Bloodshed in the Desert: Israeli Massacres Ignite Regional Security Crisis
Mauritania’s Parliament Condemns Israeli Occupation of Palestine
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mohamed Bembe Ould Mekt, expressed deep concern over the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestine, stating that it now threatens security and peace in the entire region.
This statement was made during his speech at the end of the parliamentary session, where the assembly confirmed the government’s general policy statement presented by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Ajay.
Condemning Zionist Attacks on Palestine
Ould Mekt strongly condemned the ongoing barbaric Zionist attacks on the Palestinian people, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs, injuries, and missing persons, amidst a global inability to stop and hold those responsible accountable.
He emphasized that these attacks have reached an unprecedented stage in the history of disregarding laws, morals, international law, and international humanitarian law, in an attempt to restore the Nakba and force Palestinians from their land.
A Call to Action for Humanity
The Speaker urged the international community to take action, stating that all that is left is “for us to once again shout at the conscience of mankind to stop these ongoing massacres that now threaten security and peace in the entire region.”
Ould Mekt also thanked the representatives for their seriousness and responsibility during the session, acknowledging that the Senate’s approval of the government’s program confirms their commitment to implementing major reforms, including the war against corruption.
