Ukraine Raids Russia’s Belgorod Region, Leaving Multiple Casualties
A devastating attack on the evening of August 30 saw at least five people killed and 37 others injured after Ukraine raided the Belgorod region on the Russian border.
Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov accused Ukrainian forces of using Vampire rocket artillery systems with cluster munitions in the attack on the city of Belgorod and surrounding areas.
The attack resulted in the loss of five lives, including one woman and four men, according to Governor Gladkov. At least six children were among the injured, with 10 people hospitalized in critical condition.
The assault caused significant property damage in apartment buildings and businesses, as reported by Mr. Gladkov.

Regional authorities issued an air strike alert for the city of Belgorod and surrounding areas, advising residents to seek shelter immediately. Confirmation of casualties came two hours after the alert was issued.
The attack on the night of August 30 occurred amid increased border clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces, as the Ukrainian army continued to advance deeper into the Kursk region. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes due to fighting in the area.
