[미디어투데이=안상일기자] The Residents’ Association of Sinjang 1-dong, Pyeongtaek City announced on the 24th that they planted wild flowers and landscaping trees in the area around 53-15 Sinjang-dong and created a flower bed using volcanic stones and meju stones.
This event is one of the ‘Village Flower Road Creation Project’, a resident participatory budget project in 2024, and was successfully completed following the first spring flower planting and the second fall flower planting.
At the event, 14 members of the Sinjang 1-dong Residents’ Association worked together to create a pleasant environment by removing surrounding weeds and trash, and planted various flowers to transform the area into a space that provides beautiful things to see for residents. The wildflowers planted on this day are resistant to cold waves and are colorful, so they are expected to add more vitality to the coming winter.
Kim Dong-min, president of the local residents’ autonomous council, said, “I would like to thank the committee members who participated and worked hard together, and I hope that the beautiful flower beds will take their place in the hearts of residents.”
Kim Eun-sook, head of Xinjiang 1-dong, said, “I am grateful that the committee members participated with one mind,” and added, “I hope it will be a space where residents can feel happy.”
