Blue Note Jazz club to Bring Iconic Sounds to Hollywood‘s Sunset Strip
Los Angeles, CA – Get ready for a taste of New York City’s legendary jazz scene. Blue Note Entertainment Group announced Tuesday (Dec. 17) that it will open a new location on the Sunset Strip, bringing its renowned intimate atmosphere and world-class performances to the heart of Hollywood.
The new club, slated to open its doors in March 2025, will be Blue Note’s ninth international location, joining venues in Hawaii, Napa, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Milan, Beijing, and Shanghai.
“We are excited to bring the Blue Note experience to Los Angeles, offering the same intimate atmosphere and world-class performances that have defined our New York club,” said Tsion bensusan, COO of Blue Note Entertainment Group.
the expansion also includes a partnership with the LA Philharmonic to rebrand the long-running Hollywood bowl Jazz Festival as the Blue Note Jazz Festival. The 2025 edition kicks off on June 14, with a full lineup to be announced in February.
“This collaboration represents a union of two iconic institutions dedicated to celebrating jazz and its profound impact on music and culture,” said Steven Bensusan, president of Blue Note Entertainment Group.
LA Phil president/CEO Kim noltemy echoed the sentiment, stating, “This partnership represents a shared dedication to celebrating jazz and its remarkable artists while continuing the legacy of world-class music at the Bowl.”
Both the New York and Los Angeles Blue Note clubs will be curated by acclaimed artist, composer, and producer Robert Glasper. Glasper and Blue Note have a longstanding partnership, launching Glasper’s annual residency ROBTOBER in 2018. This collaboration has since expanded to include events like the Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa, Blue Note at Sea, and The Black Radio Experience, also in Napa.
“I’m honored to partner up with Blue Note once again for what will be a important cultural intersection for the Los Angeles community,” said Glasper. “Los Angeles has always been a second home to me and I can’t wait to bring LA culture to the Blue Note.”
The arrival of Blue Note on the Sunset Strip promises to inject a dose of legendary jazz energy into the vibrant Los Angeles music scene.

Robert Glasper: Thanks for having me. I’m truly honored. Los Angeles has always been like a second home to me, and it’s such an exciting city for music. So, bringing that legendary Blue Note vibe and energy to the Sunset Strip feels like a natural fit. There’s a huge community of amazing musicians and passionate jazz fans in LA, and I think this is going to be a real cultural touchstone for them.
NewsDirectory3: you have a long-standing relationship with Blue Note, from your ROBTOBER residency to the Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa. What makes this partnership so special for you?
robert Glasper: It’s more than just a partnership, it’s a family. The Bensusan family, the entire Blue Note team, they are dedicated to showcasing the best of jazz, pushing boundaries, and creating truly magical experiences. They trust my vision, and I love that creative freedom to curate lineups that showcase both established stars and rising talents.
NewsDirectory3: The new club will be opening in Spring 2025, alongside the rebranded Blue Note Jazz festival at the Hollywood bowl. What can audiences expect in those early days?
Robert Glasper: You can expect the unexpected. We’ll be bringing in some of the biggest names in jazz, but we’re also going to shine a light on exciting new voices. We want to create an habitat where everyone feels welcome,where you can discover something new and be inspired. As for the Festival, we’re already working on a lineup that’s going to blow people away. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements in February.

Robert Glasper: We’re going to add another layer to the rich musical tapestry that is the Sunset Strip. I see Blue Note becoming a hub for both musicians and fans—a place to connect, create, and celebrate the power of music. It’s going to be special, man. Really special.
