The famed Blue note jazz club is expanding,with Blue Note Los⁢ Angeles set to open its doors in mid-August. The Hollywood venue,⁢ located ‍on ⁣Sunset Boulevard and Ivar Avenue, will‍ launch with a series of ⁣performances by A-list artists spanning jazz and other genres.

Robert Glasper, a local favorite, will inaugurate the new space Aug. 14-15.Grammy-nominated Alex Isley follows Aug. 16-17. The‍ initial schedule emphasizes local talent, ⁤with ⁤Terrace martin featuring Kenyon ‍Dixon Aug. 19-20, ⁤Braxton Cook Sept. 9-10, and Kamasi Washington from sept. 30⁤ to oct.5 and Oct. 7-12.

The Blue⁢ Note Entertainment aims to replicate the vibe of its⁢ New York counterpart, featuring two shows nightly. Steven Bensusan, Blue Note Entertainment ‍president, and alex Kurland, director of programming, stressed the L.A. location will showcase a⁢ distinct local flavor in its bookings.

The schedule extends ⁢into 2026 and includes jazz legends Branford ‍Marsalis Oct. 21-22, Esperanza Spalding Sept. 2-7, Ravi Coltrane Aug. 28-31, ⁤and kenny Garrett Sept.‍ 11-14. Cimafunk will perform Nov. 20-21, and Lady ⁣Blackbird has multiple residency dates.
