Blue Ocean Shipping Established in Kobe by Samudera Japan and Imoto

Samudera Japan and Imoto Corporation have formed a joint shipping venture named Blue Ocean Shipping based in Kobe, marking a new partnership aimed at the Japanese domestic container market, according to maritime reporting by Shipmag.

The Kobe-based shipping company was established earlier this year. Ownership of Blue Ocean Shipping is split between Samudera Japan, which holds a 51 percent majority stake, and Imoto Corporation, which holds the remaining interest.

Following its formation, the newly established joint venture has placed an order for its first new container ship tailored for domestic operations within Japan. The vessel construction project represents the primary operational step for Blue Ocean Shipping since its incorporation.
