BMW officially unveiled its next-generation 3 Series lineup, launching an internal-combustion range that starts at 49,900 USD in the United States according to Webtekno, while reaching up to 65,900 USD for its flagship variant. The newly revealed sedans contrast with the brand’s all-electric i3 model introduced in March, utilizing the traditional CLAR platform rather than the dedicated “Neue Klasse” electric architecture while adopting the company’s latest futuristic design language, Webtekno and Habertürk reported.

The newly launched family spans several variants globally, with log.com.tr noting that the initial release includes the 330, 330 xDrive, and M350 xDrive, while Germany’s configuration tool lists 318, 320, and M350 options. DonanımHaber reported that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo entry points start with the BMW 318 producing 156 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque with a 48V starter-generator to reach 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, while the BMW 320 delivers 211 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque with a 0-100 km/h time of 7.4 seconds. Habertürk cited slightly different figures for the 320 variant, stating it produces 208 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque.

Power Outputs and the M350 xDrive Performance Flagship

At the top of the internal-combustion hierarchy, the M350 xDrive pairs a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system integrated into the crankshaft. Webtekno reported that this top-tier configuration generates 437 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque, pushing the sedan from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, whereas DonanımHaber stated the output reaches 443 horsepower with a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds. Habertürk placed the M350 output at 420 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque with a 4.1-second acceleration time. All variants share a top speed of 250 km/h, according to Webtekno.

Performance driving features include a newly developed factory drift function. Webtekno and DonanımHaber reported that the M350 xDrive features a system called “Drift Moment,” which completely cuts power delivery to the front wheels via the center screen to enable rear-wheel sliding. Additional mechanical enhancements include an optimized BMW Driving Stack control system, optional Adaptive M suspension, and M Sport brakes featuring four exhaust outlets and a rear spoiler on the M350, as detailed by Webtekno and DonanımHaber.

BMW 3 Series integrates digital layout and panoramic displays

Inside the cabin, the redesigned 3 Series integrates the brand’s latest digital layout. Webtekno and DonanımHaber reported that the vehicle utilizes the “BMW Panoramic iDrive” architecture, featuring a 17.9-inch central touchscreen paired with the BMW Panoramic Vision head-up display stretching across the base of the windshield. The cabin minimizes physical switches, incorporating touch-sensitive steering wheel controls and dedicated M Mode buttons on performance trims, alongside Level 2+ driver assistance systems such as a Hands-Free Highway Assistant operable up to 130 km/h, according to DonanımHaber.

Dimensionally, the sedan has expanded compared to its predecessor. Habertürk reported that the new model measures 4,760 millimeters in length—an increase of 52 millimeters—which extends rear passenger legroom while reducing trunk capacity to 450 liters, down 30 liters from the previous generation. BMW confirmed that European markets will not receive diesel variants, and in accordance with the brand’s updated naming nomenclature, the lowercase “i” designation has been permanently removed from gasoline models to prevent confusion with battery-electric vehicles, Webtekno reported.

BMW splits production between Munich and Dingolfing plants

Production responsibilities are split across different German plants. DonanımHaber reported that while the all-electric i3 is manufactured at BMW’s primary facility in Munich, the newly revealed internal-combustion 3 Series models will be produced at the company’s Dingolfing plant in Bavaria. European market pricing remains unannounced following the regional launch, though log.com.tr confirmed that the vehicle is scheduled for delivery to Turkey next year.

Public reception of the exterior styling remains divided among consumers. log.com.tr noted that while some observers praise the front fascia while criticizing the rear design, others hold the exact opposite view regarding the vehicle’s aesthetic updates.

Habertürk reported that BMW plans to expand the lineup with additional motor options and a Touring station wagon body style.
