McGlinchey Sees Bo Nix Leading Broncos Offensive Line to New Heights
updated June 6, 2025
Denver Broncos offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey believes rookie quarterback Bo Nix is already transforming the team’s culture. McGlinchey, who signed with Denver in 2023, emphasized that coach Sean Payton was a major draw, but Nix’s early command is validating his decision.
McGlinchey noted Nix’s confidence and competitiveness during OTAs. He said the rookie’s ability to block out distractions is a hallmark of great quarterbacks. The Broncos offensive line, with all starters returning, aims to provide a strong foundation for Nix and the offense.

“The confidence, the competitiveness, the willingness to get after Sean at times, this is Bo’s team,” McGlinchey said. “He knows that. Everybody knows that.”
McGlinchey, entering his eighth NFL season, sees the team’s continuity on the offensive line as a meaningful advantage. He said the focus is now on refining techniques and implementing new blocking schemes to bolster the running game. The Broncos struggled to run the ball effectively last season, with Javonte Williams leading the team with just 513 rushing yards.
“Our running game can take that next step, and we need it to,” McGlinchey said. “We understand that in order to be as dominant as we want to be, you have to be able to control the ball on the ground, especially with the defence that we have.”
While McGlinchey’s performance has faced scrutiny, he delivered a strong 2024 season, allowing only three sacks despite missing four games. He now prioritizes team success over individual accolades.
