In a surprising⁣ collaboration,Bob Dylan provides the narration ‌for⁣ the trailer announcing Machine Gun Kelly’s ‍upcoming album,Lost Americana. This marks a ⁣unique partnership between the legendary singer-songwriter and the contemporary musician, focusing on themes‍ of American identity and rediscovery.

Dylan’s ‍distinctive voice describes Lost Americana as “a personal excavation of the American dream,” and “a love letter to those who seek to rediscover.” He further characterizes the album as “a sonic map of forgotten places,a tribute ⁣to the spirit of reinvention, and a quest to reclaim the essence of American ‍freedom.” The trailer ⁣features home movie-style footage of⁢ Machine ⁢Gun Kelly, ⁤also known as MGK, and friends, including shots of him on a motorcycle sporting⁣ a custom lost Americana jacket.

A brief musical snippet plays ‍at the trailer’s conclusion, featuring ⁢a prominent synth⁢ arpeggio. Dylan’s ‌narration accompanies this, stating, “From the gold neon diners ⁣to the⁤ rumble of the motorcycles, this is music that celebrates‌ the beauty found in the in-between spaces.Where the past is⁢ reimagined and the future is‌ forged on your own terms.”

Machine Gun Kelly’s Lost ‍Americana, his first‌ album in three ‌years,is ⁢slated for release on‌ Aug. 8. It follows 2022’s Mainstream Sellout. While⁣ the ‍full track list remains under wraps, the ⁤album will include his recent single, “Cliché.”

MGK has released several other tracks this year,⁤ including “Your‍ Name⁤ Forever,” “Come Pick ‍Me Up,” and a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” with‌ Julia Wolf. It ⁤is not yet known ⁢whether these ‌songs will also be featured on Lost Americana.

Machine Gun Kelly expressed ‌surprise and gratitude regarding Dylan’s ⁤involvement. He described ⁤Dylan’s earlier, ⁢seemingly random, Instagram post of him rapping as a⁤ sign of encouragement. “Just the originator of doing everything⁢ opposite of what people wanted him to do, randomly posting a video of me back in the day rapping in a vinyl shop,” MGK‌ said. “I’m just like, ‘What the fuck?’ Just trust ⁣the signs, man. That was so cool. I’m so grateful.”

What’s next
