Bobo-Dioulasso Wraps Up: Highlights from the 2nd Edition’s Grand Finale
Second Edition of Burkinabe Diaspora Entrepreneurs’ Forum Closes in Bobo-Dioulasso
The second edition of the forum for entrepreneurs from the Burkinabe diaspora closed its doors on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Bobo-Dioulasso. The closing ceremony was marked by recommendations to the State, followed by an immersion in the Bobo-Dioulasso industrial zone.
The event concluded on a positive note, with organizers expressing satisfaction with the outcome. “The results are beyond our expectations. We worked for 02 days, and the activities went well. Recommendations were made to our highest authorities, and with the presence of the minister in charge of Burkinabè from abroad, we are confident that the message will be passed on to whomever it may be relevant,” explained Romuald Sawadogo, president of the organizing committee.
The main focus of the recommendations made to the authorities was creating favorable conditions for investment by the diaspora in the country. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Burkinabè Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, welcomed the initiative.

“We welcome this forum because it is an initiative that allows us to promote the diaspora and bring them together to discuss how we can make the most of the diaspora’s contribution, which has been leveraged on for development by the President of Faso,” he expressed.
Additionally, a “Night of Economic Actors of the Diaspora” was held, where some actors from the diaspora were rewarded. The next edition is scheduled to take place in Tenkodogo in 2025.
