Boise State Gymnastics at Utah State: Live Stream & How to Watch

LOGAN, Utah – The Boise State gymnastics team travels to Logan, Utah, this Friday, February 20, for a Mountain West Conference meet against Utah State. Competition is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. MT.

Utah State currently holds the highest National Qualifying Score (NQS) in the Mountain West at 195.638, compared to Boise State’s 195.350. The Aggies lead the conference on bars (48.958) and floor (49.083). Nyla Morabito and Sydney Jelen hold the top NQS scores in the conference on vault (9.830) and beam (9.820), respectively, while Isabella Vater and Olivia Orengo are ranked second on floor (9.870) and bars (9.830).

This marks the 122nd meeting between the two programs, with Utah State holding a slight edge in the all-time series, 61-59-1. However, under head coach Tina Bird, the Broncos boast a 46-7-1 record against the Aggies. The teams last met on January 30, 2026, in Boise, where Utah State narrowly defeated Boise State, 195.350-195.250.

Boise State is coming off a successful showing at the February 15 Metroplex Challenge, where they achieved a season-best score of 49.125 on beam. Miraya Nero and Kristina Shchennikova both posted career-high scores of 9.900 on beam at the Metroplex Challenge, becoming the first Broncos to tally a 9.900 in any event this season. Sydney Kho and Brantley Lucas matched their career-highs, while Isabella Delarosa rounded out the lineup.

Following their performances at the Metroplex Challenge, Nero and Shchennikova were named Mountain West Co-Beam Specialists of the Week, with Nero also earning MW Co-Freshman of the Week honors. Nero has three MW weekly awards this season, the most on the team. This marks Shchennikova’s first weekly honor of the year and ninth of her career.

Nero was also named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week after her performance at BYU on January 16, where she won the all-around crown with a 39.075. She is the first Boise State freshman to win an all-around title since 2017. She posted a career-high 9.850 on floor and a 39.100 in the all-around in the January 30 home quad, Boise State’s best all-around score since 2021.

Shchennikova won a share of the bars crown in Boise State’s February 6 quad meet, recording a 9.875, Boise State’s highest individual score of the year. It was her first career win on the apparatus. She has four overall wins in her career, posting three on beam last season, and is the only gymnast on the Boise State roster with titles in multiple events.

At the February 6 home quad meet, Boise State notched season-best event scores on vault (48.850) and bars (48.975). Shchennikova won the bars crown, while Kylee Hamby matched her season-high of 9.850 and Carly Buell posted her top score of the year (9.800).

Boise State posted a season-best 49.075 on floor in the January 30 home quad, led by Blake Pascal, who finished second with a 9.875. Pascal has scored 9.800 or higher and led the Broncos in four meets this year. Nero added a career-high 9.850, while Delaney Reeves posted a 9.825.

Freshman Isabella Delarosa, a Meridian, Idaho native, earned a share of the beam title with a 9.825 in her first home competition on January 30. The following week, she posted a career-high 9.800 on vault, Boise State’s highest score on the apparatus this year.

Senior Sydney Kho captured her first vault title of the year and second of her career at Air Force on January 23, tallying a season-high 9.825.

Boise State was selected to finish first in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches’ Poll, earning 27 of 30 points and two first-place votes. Last year, the Broncos won the inaugural Mountain West Championships and finished the regular season ranked 32nd overall.

Head coach Tina Bird is in her 19th season at the helm, having served as co-head coach from 2008-2019 before becoming the sole head coach in 2020. She was an assistant coach for Boise State from 1990-2007 and a gymnast for the Broncos from 1986-1989. In her 36 years on staff, Boise State has produced 34 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 conference titles, and 13 All-Americans. Bird has earned the conference coach of the year award eight times, including the last two in the Mountain West.

The Broncos return three All-Mountain West selections from last season: Kristina Shchennikova, Blake Pascal, and Bridget Kemp.
