Sudan Conflict: 2 Killed, 10 Injured in Artillery Fire on Sabreen Market
On Wednesday, the Sudanese authorities reported that two people, including a child, were killed and 10 civilians were injured as a result of artillery fire by the Rapid Support Forces on the Sabreen Market in the city of Omdurman, west of the capital.
The Ministry of Health stated that the victims were injured in the highway on Sabreen Market, Al-Iskan, Bir Hamid, and Al-Hara 50 neighborhoods in Omdurman. The ministry noted that these cases are the ones that reached hospitals, indicating that there could be other victims.
The ongoing conflict between the military and Rapid Aid Forces has resulted in devastating consequences, with over 20,000 people killed and around 10 million displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations.
The international community is increasingly calling for an end to the war, as the humanitarian situation in Sudan continues to deteriorate. The fighting has spread to 13 out of 18 states, pushing millions into starvation and death due to food shortages.
