Festival programmers have also introduced a new international competition category designed to broaden the scope of the event beyond traditional music documentaries and concert films. The opening night selection is Congo Boy
directed by Congolese filmmaker and musician Rafiki Fariala, as reported by MBC. Festival programmer Cho Myung-jin noted in coverage that the film highlights how music serves as a vital survival mechanism rather than simple comfort during times of hardship.
High-Profile Guest Lineup and Industry Figures
Jang Hang-jun, who serves as the executive committee member for the festival, leveraged industry connections to assemble a notable roster of guests for the 22nd edition. MBC reported that filmmakers Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook are scheduled to attend the opening ceremonies. Additional cultural figures participating in various festival side events include screenwriter Kim Eun-hee, actor Jeon Mi-do, and news anchor Sohn Suk-hee. Actor Ahn Jae-hong has been appointed as the official festival ambassador.
