jonathan Mayers, a co-founder of Superfly Entertainment and a key figure in creating the Bonnaroo music festival and Outside Lands, has died. The news was reported by Billboard. The cause of death was not immediately released.
Mayers, along with Rick Farman, Richard Goodstone, and Kerry Black, established Superfly in 1996. The company, in collaboration with Ashley capps of AC Entertainment, Chip Hooper, and Coran Capshaw, launched the first Bonnaroo in 2002. The success of Bonnaroo led Superfly and AC entertainment too create the Vegoose Music Festival in Las Vegas. Superfly also partnered with Another Planet Entertainment for Outside lands in San Francisco. Mayers’ work with Superfly extended to events like comedy Central’s Clusterfest and Project Pabst.
