Boone Community Rallies Behind Free Clinic at Night of Philanthropy
Boone,Iowa – The spirit of giving shone brightly in Boone on Wednesday night as the Boone 100’s Club hosted its fourth annual Night of Philanthropy. Held at the Boone High School Auditorium, the event brought together community members eager to make a difference in their hometown.
The unique format of the Night of Philanthropy encourages generosity for the sheer joy of giving. Attendees donate $100 for the chance to vote on one of three local causes,with the winning organization receiving the collective funds.
“The most common question we get is,‘What are the three causes?’” shared Dave Sherry,co-founder of the Boone 100’s Club,alongside Shellie Grabau. “But the idea is to give without knowing the specific recipient. It’s about the act of giving itself.”
This year, the three finalists were the Boone Area Veterans Center, The Free Clinic of Boone County, and the Boone High School Athletic Training program. After passionate presentations from each organization, the Free Clinic of Boone County emerged victorious, receiving a generous donation of $3,100.
Jennifer Clubine, representing the Free Clinic, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support. “We are incredibly thankful for this generous donation,” she said. “It will make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”
The Boone 100’s Club, founded by Sherry and Grabau, aims to foster a culture of philanthropy in Boone County. their goal is to gather 100 donors at each event, raising $10,000 to considerably impact local organizations.

Over 30 community members donated $100 each,contributing to a generous pot of $3,100 that was awarded to the Free clinic of Boone County.
This unique event encourages philanthropic giving by keeping the recipient organizations a surprise until the evening of the event. attendees cast their votes for one of three pre-selected local nonprofits, with the winning organization receiving the total donations.
