Apple Watch Series 10: A New Generation of Smart Watches
(Central News Agency reporter Wu Jiahao, Taipei, 10th) Apple today released a new generation of smart watches, the Apple Watch Series 10, which offers a larger and more advanced display, faster charging speed, and water depth and temperature sensing functions than AirPods 4. Added new models with active noise reduction.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is available to order in Taiwan starting at NT$13,500 and will go on sale on the 20th. The AirPods 4 are priced at 4,490 yuan in Taiwan, and the active noise reduction model is priced at 5,990 yuan yet to be announced.
Design and Features
The Apple Watch Series 10 is about 10% thinner than the Series 9 released last year, and the metal back integrates the antenna into the device’s casing. The Series 10 aluminum case is 10% lighter than the Series 9, and the titanium case is approximately 20% lighter than the Series 9 stainless steel model.
The Series 10 features new body sizes of 42 mm (1 cm 10 mm) and a slight increase to 46 mm to improve readability. In apps such as “Messages”, “Mail” or “News”, users can see additional text columns or increase the font size and more easily enter messages, passwords or take physical training breaks.
Charging and Water Resistance
Apple Watch Series 10’s new metal back integrates a larger and more efficient charging coil to speed up charging, it can be charged in 15 minutes for 8 hours for normal use, and 8 minutes of charging can provide 8 hours of sleep tracking. Users can charge the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The new depth gauge can measure water depths of up to 6 meters, making it perfect for snorkeling and shallow diving, or for use in pools, lakes or oceans. Once the Apple Watch enters the water, the new water temperature sensor begins to measure the temperature of the water.
AirPods 4 with Active Noise Reduction
In addition, Apple announced the expansion of its wireless headphone product line, introducing the AirPods 4 model with Active Noise Reduction function, which includes a new acoustic architecture, low-distortion driver unit and high dynamic range amplifier. And the dynamic added head tracking function “Personalized Spatial Audio” brings a stronger sense of immersion.
AirPods 4 with active noise reduction can help reduce environmental noise such as airplane engines and urban traffic, and add smart features like “clarity mode” to keep users focused on their surroundings at all times. The new headphones’ “conversation sense” feature will automatically lower the media playback volume when the user is talking to others.
The AirPods 4 charging box now supports USB-C charging and is 10% smaller than the previous generation while still providing 30 hours of battery life.
