Romania‘s Schengen Access: A Step Away from Land Border Controls
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Thursday that Romania is one step away from land border controls, paving the way for the country’s accession to the Schengen Area.
According to the Prime Minister, the decision will be made by the JAI Council on December 13, following the COREPER vote. The implementation process is expected to take three months, with the new regulations likely to come into effect during the Easter holidays.

I believe it will be COREPER and then, on December 13, the JAI Council will make a decision based on the COREPER vote. It will be in March, just like the airline … They will take it, because there are some softwares to be implemented, they will take this time of three months. During the Easter holidays, more than likely, Romanians will come to Schengen, argued Marcel Ciolacu.
