Borussia Dortmund’s U19 football team travels approximately 11,000 kilometers across international competitions before preparing to face FC Schalke 04 in the DFB Youth League on October 25, 2026, bvb.de reported. The squad enters Sunday morning’s fixture at the Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen following their Youth League match against Azerbaijani side Sabah FC (2–0), with coach Felix Hirschnagl leading the team.

While the senior women’s side faces Essen, the club’s youth divisions navigate their own demanding autumn schedules across regional and national leagues.

DFB Youth League Showdown at the Parkstadion

Dortmund aims to maintain its lead in the DFB Youth League standings during the upcoming Revierderby against fourth-place Schalke. Schalke enters the match trailing Dortmund by eight points, creating heightened pressure for the hosts to secure points for main round qualification.

We know how hard it is to play in the Youth League after a Youth League match. We’ve traveled about 11,000 kilometers so far; we’ll recover and then fully focus on the derby.

Felix Hirschnagl

The first leg between the two rivals ended in a narrow 1–0 victory for Dortmund, decided by an early own goal from Schalke. Hirschnagl warned that the opposition will seek a competitive response in Sunday’s 11 a.m. fixture.

Regionalliga West Campaign and Roster Questions for BVB U23

Borussia Dortmund’s undefeated U23 team hosts Bonner SC at the Rote Erde Stadium on October 23, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in a Regionalliga West fixture. BVB head coach Daniel Rios addressed the team’s rise to promotion contenders after four consecutive wins pulled Borussia even with league-leading Oberhausen in points, according to bvb.de.

No one declared us the clear favorites before the season. I see it exactly the same way. But the lads have developed—and we’re building on that progress.

Daniel Rios

Bonn arrives at seventh in the standings after a ten-game unbeaten streak was recently halted by a 1–0 defeat against Hilden. BVB squad availability remains uncertain for the fixture, as under-19 players Aaron Held, Tim Degener, and Fadi Zarqelain only returned on October 21 from Azerbaijan. Midfielder Mussa Kaba remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.

U17 Rest Period Before the Top Match

Dortmund’s U17 squad enjoys the weekend off, bvb.de reported. The pause provides coach Karsten Gorges’ team time to prepare for a top-of-the-table clash scheduled for October 30 at 4 p.m. at the Parkstadion against FC Schalke 04.
