Boston Bruins Announce Hockey Operations Staff Changes and Additions

Dean Malkoc steps into a role as a Pro Scout, entering his 20th season within the Bruins organization. Malkoc most recently served as the Associate Director of Amateur Scouting starting in August 2022, following earlier stints as an amateur scout. A Vancouver native, Malkoc played 11 professional seasons across the NHL, AHL, and IHL, including four seasons in the NHL with Vancouver, Boston—where he played 73 games from 1996–97 to 1997–98—and the New York Islanders. Josh Pohlkamp-Hartt moves into the position of Director of Hockey Analytics, entering his eighth season with the franchise. Pohlkamp-Hartt spent three seasons from 2023 to 2026 as the Associate Director of Hockey Analytics after originally joining the organization as a Data Scientist in 2019. He holds a doctorate in applied statistics from Queen’s University and oversees the development of metrics and models supporting draft prospect evaluation and in-game strategy. Cam Wolbach transitions to Team Operations and Video Coordinator for Providence, entering his second year with the organization after serving as Providence’s Video Coordinator during the 2025–26 season. Before joining the Bruins, Wolbach spent five seasons at Boston College as Assistant Director of Hockey Operations, earning his Master of Business Administration from Boston College in May 2025.

New EBUG Designation and Staff Additions

Kyle Chauvette joins the organization as an Emergency Backup Goaltender and Video Scout. The appointment aligns with the NHL’s updated Collective Bargaining Agreement requiring each club to designate a full-time EBUG to travel for all home and away games during the 2026–27 season. Chauvette played the 2025–26 NCAA season at the University of New Hampshire, recording a 2.63 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage across 34 games, following three seasons at Union College from 2022 to 2025. He earned an economics degree from UNH in May 2026 and is pursuing a master’s in finance at Bentley University. Josh Cooper joins the amateur scouting staff covering the Ontario Hockey League. Cooper spent two seasons scouting for the OHL’s London Knights and worked with the Toronto Titans U16 team in the Greater Toronto Hockey League during the 2024–25 season. Leland Mack enters his first season as an amateur scout covering the Western Hockey League. Mack served as Director of Scouting for the WHL’s Prince George Cougars during the 2025–26 season, preceded by six seasons of scouting for the organization and ten seasons scouting for the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Operations, Coaching, and Medical Additions

Aidan Matthews joins as a Team Services and Operations Specialist. Matthews previously worked as a Baseball Operations Administrative Assistant for the Savannah Bananas and as a Baseball Operations Intern for the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. She holds a sport management degree from Washington State University. Benjamin Snyder takes over as Assistant Video Coordinator in Providence. Snyder served as a student manager for the University of Connecticut men’s hockey team and as an assistant coach for the Northeast Generals junior hockey team in the North American Hockey League, graduating from UConn with a sport management degree in May 2026. Amanda Feldman joins as Team Dietitian. A registered dietitian, Feldman spent the previous three seasons from 2023 to 2026 with the Boston Fleet of the PWHL, worked as a sports dietitian at Boston University starting in October 2025, and served as a performance nutrition coach with Fuel Forward since 2023. She completed internships at Florida State University and Boston College, holding a biology degree from Boston University and a master’s in dietetics.
