Late Goals Secure Victory for Boston River
The goals,both scored late in the match by Sastre,sealed the victory for Boston River,who controlled the majority of the game’s offensive plays.
Facundo Rodríguez broke the scoreless tie in the 86th minute. His shot from just outside the penalty area deflected off a Miramar Misiones defender and into the net, giving Boston River a 1-0 lead.
With time running out, Miramar misiones pressed forward in search of an equalizer. However,Boston River capitalized on the increased space,scoring a second goal on a counterattack. Gustavo Viera finished the play,putting the ball in the net from inside the area to make the score 2-0.
VAR Overturns Penalty Decision
A notable moment occurred in the first half when referee Mathías de Armas initially awarded Boston River a penalty. Though, after a video assistant referee (VAR) review, the referee reversed his decision, determining that Agustín Albarracín had simulated a foul.
