Azmar Abdullah Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

Boston University men’s basketball freshman Azmar Abdullah has been recognized as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week. This announcement came from the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Abdullah, from Cranston, Rhode Island, played a key role in leading BU to two victories. He averaged 10.3 points per game while shooting 60% from the field and 58.3% from three-point range.

In a standout game against Howard, the two-time defending MEAC champion, Abdullah scored 21 points, including 13 points in the final 3:30 of the game. He made five of seven three-point attempts and contributed two steals, helping BU secure a 69-62 win.

In earlier games, Abdullah scored seven points in a close 60-58 loss to Wagner and added three points with two assists in a 75-71 victory against UMBC.

The Terriers will play against Sacred Heart on Sunday, December 1, at 4 p.m.
