boston, MA – The city’s Worker Empowerment Cabinet released its Fiscal Year 2023 annual report, Anchored in Equity, highlighting a year of meaningful progress in advancing the well-being of Boston’s workforce. Established by Mayor Michelle Wu in 2022, the Cabinet is dedicated to reducing income inequality adn creating a safe, healthy, and climate-resilient city for all.
Led by Chief of Worker Empowerment Trinh nguyen, the Cabinet brings together the Office of Workforce Development, the Centre for Working Families, the Office of Labor compliance and Worker Protections, and the Office of Youth Employment and Prospect. Boston Invests in Workers, Securing Thousands of Jobs and Millions in Refunds
Boston, MA – The City of Boston is doubling down on its commitment to worker empowerment, announcing a series of initiatives designed to create pathways to good-paying jobs, protect worker safety, and provide critical financial support.
The Worker empowerment Cabinet, established in 2022, has spearheaded these efforts, focusing on expanding access to training, job placement, and vital resources for Boston residents.
One key initiative, the Good Jobs Metro Boston Coalition, aims to train and place residents in 4,618 quality jobs across growing sectors like childcare, healthcare, and clean energy.

Beyond job creation and financial support, the City is prioritizing worker safety. the Office of Labor Compliance and Worker Protections partnered with developers, contractors, OSHA, and safety advocates to implement the Safe Construction and Demolition Operations Ordinance. this ordinance ensures that all construction and demolition projects in Boston adhere to the highest safety standards, protecting the well-being of workers and the public.
