The FBI is investigating an attack in Boulder, Colorado, as a “targeted act of violence” and an “act of terrorism.” Eight people were injured in the incident.
The attack occurred during a weekly event organized by Run for Their Lives,a group raising awareness for Israeli hostages in Gaza. According to the FBI, witnesses reported that the suspect threw an incendiary device into the group and used a makeshift flamethrower.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45. Soliman was apprehended and taken to a hospital shortly after the attack. Police Chief Stephen Redfearn stated thay are “fairly confident” that Soliman acted alone and that there is no evidence linking him to a broader network.
During the attack, Soliman allegedly shouted, “Free Palestine,” according to Mark Michalek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Denver field office. Michalek emphasized the targeted nature of the violence, leading to the terrorism inquiry.

The victims, four men and four women, range in age from 52 to 88.They sustained burns and other injuries, with conditions ranging from minor to vrey serious.
