Irish police (Gardaí) and emergency responders were dispatched to a residence in the town at approximately 3:00 PM following reports of the incident, which involved two dogs. the injured child was transported to ChildrenS Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin for medical treatment.
While the boy’s injuries are considered serious,authorities have stated they are not currently life-threatening.
The scene has been secured for a forensic examination. Both dogs involved in the attack have been taken into the custody of the local dog warden, and arrangements are underway for their humane euthanasia in consultation with veterinary services.
Gardaí have confirmed an examination is ongoing.
