BPJS Cilincing Sees Surge in Employment, Boosting ‘Inclusion’ Movement to New Heights
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Cilincing Encourages Participation in Social Security Program
Jakarta – BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Cilincing is urging companies, institutions, and individuals to participate in the Participation Movement, also known as the Prosperity Workers and the Welfare of Workers Around You. This movement aims to <a href="https://www.newsdirectory3.com/cabinet-approves-draft-asean-declaration-on-linking-social-security-rights-for-migrant-workers/" title="Cabinet approves draft ASEAN Declaration on linking social security rights for migrant workers”>provide social security protection to vulnerable workers.
Haryani Rotua Melasari, Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Cilincing branch, expressed her willingness to support the movement by registering and paying the participation fee for non-wage earners. This will enable them to access the Employment Social Security Program (Jamsostek).
“Vulnerable workers typically have limited income, barely enough to cover their daily needs,” Haryani explained. ”We need to help them participate in the movement so that they can enjoy the same rights as other workers, including protected employment and social security.”
The non-wage earners (BPU) category can start with two basic plans: work accident insurance (JKK) and death insurance (JKM), which cost IDR 16,800 per month. However, it is recommended to register for three plans, including the old age insurance (JHT) plan, which costs IDR 20,000. The total cost for the three plans is IDR 36,800 per month.
The JKK benefits cover medical expenses for participants who suffer work-related accidents or illnesses until they recover and return to work. These benefits are not limited and include rehabilitation services without cost restrictions or time limits.
The JKM benefits provide financial assistance to heirs in the form of death compensation, regular compensation, funeral expenses, and scholarships for the education of two children.
Individuals who want to participate in the movement can register vulnerable workers through the JMO (Jamsostek Mobile) application. Haryani revealed that many vulnerable workers and families have benefited from the Sertakan movement, including recipients of JKM and JKK benefits.
Some children of disadvantaged workers have even received scholarship benefits for higher education due to work-related accidents or death. The Sertakan program also educates and stimulates participation in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, with many participants continuing their contributions independently after initial support from the program.
“Participants are beginning to realize the importance of having self-protection through the BPJS employment program, which is affordable and provides valuable benefits,” Haryani concluded.
