Indonesian Healthcare Agency Wins Big on International Stage
Jakarta, Indonesia - BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia’s national healthcare agency, is ending 2024 on a high note, securing 10 prestigious awards at the international Social Security Association (ISSA) Good Practice Awards. The accolades were presented during the Regional Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific in Riyadh on Tuesday.
This year’s competition saw 187 entries from 34 member institutions across 21 countries. BPJS kesehatan’s impressive showing included four Certificates of Merit with Special Mention and six Certificates of Merit, recognizing the agency’s innovative practices in managing Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) program.
“These awards are a testament to the tireless efforts of BPJS Kesehatan and its team,” said Ghufron, BPJS Kesehatan’s president director. “We are committed to innovation, collaboration, and ensuring the sustainability of JKN management. Building climate-resilient health systems: This initiative focuses on incorporating climate-smart adaptation plans to achieve universal health coverage.
Digital health screening: This program leverages technology to expand risk detection of chronic diseases in Indonesia.
Digital transformation in contribution collection: This initiative utilizes digital tools to improve the efficiency and accessibility of contribution collection for Indonesia’s social health insurance scheme. Leveraging big data analytics: BPJS Kesehatan is using data-driven insights to transform healthcare delivery and optimize the social health insurance ecosystem.
International Recognition Continues
This success follows another prestigious award received by BPJS Kesehatan in November from the ASEAN Security Association (ASSA). The agency was honored for its participant Recruitment and Reactivation Service Program (JELITA), which aims to increase active participation and contribution collection within the JKN program.
