Pitt, 61, urged young actors too prioritize their craft and avoid chasing fame solely thru blockbuster films. He expressed admiration for the new generation’s willingness to explore various artistic avenues but warned against the allure of franchise dependency.
“They get caught up in you ‘have to have a franchise’ or ‘have to have a superhero.’ But I keep saying, ‘Don’t! don’t! They’ll die,'” Pitt said, according to Variety.
pitt’s advice comes shortly after his Los Feliz home was burglarized June 25. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, three suspects broke into the mansion around 10:30 p.m. while Pitt was in London promoting his new racing film, “F1: The Movie.” The intruders ransacked the house and made off with several items. The specific items stolen have not been disclosed.
A neighbor told the Daily Mail that a security vehicle that had been a constant presence outside Pitt’s home for two years disappeared days before the break-in. The reason for its removal remains unknown.
Pitt’s home invasion is part of a larger trend of celebrity burglaries in Los Angeles. This year, homes belonging to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, and Olivier Giroud have been targeted. Last year, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson also experienced a break-in. NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have also been affected.
Authorities suspect organized burglary rings are exploiting social media and travel schedules to target celebrities. Security experts are advising high-profile individuals to increase their security measures as the LAPD forms task forces to address the escalating crime wave.
Despite the recent burglary, Pitt is celebrating the success of “F1: The Movie.” The film grossed $144 million worldwide during its opening weekend, with $55.6 million in the U.S. and $88.4 million internationally. The film is being hailed as Apple’s first blockbuster.
