Marvel has announced a leadership transition involving the departure of President Dan Buckley and the appointment of new executives to oversee the company’s core creative and franchise divisions.
According to a statement from Marvel, Brad Winderbaum, previously a Marvel Studios executive, has been appointed as the Head of Marvel Television, Animation, Comics & Franchise.
The new role consolidates oversight across multiple primary mediums, placing television, animation, and the publishing arm of the comics business under a single leadership mandate. This position also includes responsibility for the broader management of the franchise.
The transition follows the decision by Dan Buckley to step down from his role as President of the organization.
In addition to the appointment of Winderbaum, Marvel indicated that an executive named Abdo is also taking over leadership responsibilities as part of the organizational shift.
Winderbaum moves into this expanded role from Marvel Studios, where he served as an executive. His transition into the leadership of the comics and television divisions suggests a strategic alignment between the studio’s film production and the company’s other storytelling platforms.
