Adding a Logo to Your Video

Adding a logo to your video is a simple process that can be completed in a few steps. You can import a JPEG or PNG file and drag and drop it to the timeline above the video. The logo will become an overlay on the video.

Importing Logo into Media Tab

Importing a logo image works the same way as importing other types of images. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click the “Media” tab and browse your computer for files or connect to OneDrive.
  2. Select the image and click the “Open” button.
  3. Once the logo is in the media tab, drag and drop the asset onto the timeline above the video. Make sure the image asset is on top so that it automatically appears on top of the video as an overlay.

For more details, see the Adding Images to Video Tutorial.

Adding a Logo to Your Branding Kit

If you have access to the Brand Kit feature, you can upload logo files that are easier to use across multiple editing projects without having to upload them to each video individually.

The Brand Kit feature is available for Clipchamp for personal accounts and Clipchamp for work. For Clipchamp for work, the Brand Kit feature is available if your organization is on the corresponding Microsoft 365 Business SKU and has licenses for Clipchamp Premium plans assigned to your users.

  1. To add your logo to your Brand Kit, find the Brand Kit on the Clipchamp Video Editor homepage or access it from inside the Video Editor on the toolbar.
  2. Click the “Add Logo” button and select your logo from your computer files. Select your logo and click the “Open” button.

Logos must be PNG, JPEG, or SVG file types with a maximum size of 10 MB.

See the Branding Kit Tutorial for more details.

Removing the Background of the Logo

Removing the background of the logo is a simple process that can be completed in a few steps.

  1. Import your logo image into the Media tab, then drag and drop the logo asset into the timeline.
  2. Click on the image in the timeline so that it highlights green. Next, right-click in the video preview window/stage and click the “Remove Background” button.
  3. You can also click the three dots and then click the “Remove Background” button.
  4. The image background will automatically begin to be removed using AI technology. After the background is removed from the image, another asset will appear in the Media tab on the toolbar. The original image and the second image with a transparent background will now appear. The transparent background image will also appear on the timeline and automatically download to your device.

See our How to Remove Background from Photos and Images tutorial for more details.
