Brazil Ends Representation of Argentina in Venezuelan Embassy
Brazil will no longer represent Argentina at its embassy in Caracas,Venezuela,following a shift in the political landscape after the arrest of Nicolás Maduro. This decision reconfigures diplomatic relations in the Southern Cone.
Brazil had served as the protecting power for the Argentine Embassy in Caracas since august 2024.According to infobae,officials from the management of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva confirmed the change.
Italy is now the leading candidate to take over custody of the diplomatic headquarters adn represent Argentine interests in Venezuela. This follows a recent statement by the Peruvian president affirming the necessity of intervention in Venezuelan territory, despite concerns over legal breaches.
