The Ministry of Health has officially launched the 2026 National Vaccination Campaign, scheduling the nationwide national mobilization day, or Dia D, for August 22, 2026, according to official government reporting. The initiative runs through September 1, 2026, targeting children and adolescents under the age of 15 to update vaccination records and raise immunization coverage across the country, as reported by Agência Gov.

Vaccines Offered During the 2026 Campaign

According to the Ministry of Health, the campaign makes 20 immunizers from the National Vaccination Calendar available to the public free of charge. Healthcare professionals are utilizing a selective vaccination approach, reviewing individual records at health posts and administering only the doses needed to complete or start required schedules.

Agência Gov reports that the available biologicals include:

  • BCG, protecting against severe forms of tuberculosis.
  • Hepatitis B and Hepatitis A.
  • Penta, covering diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b.
  • Inactivated poliomyelitis vaccine (VIP) to prevent polio.
  • Human rotavirus and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (including the newly incorporated 10-valente and 20-valente formulations).
  • Meningococcal C and ACWY conjugate formulations.
  • Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Yellow fever and varicella vaccines.
  • Triple viral (measles, mumps, and rubella) and dT vaccines.
  • HPV4 and tetravalent dengue vaccines, depending on age and specific target groups.

Introduction of Pneumo 20 and Measles Intensification

Marking a key update for this year, Agência Gov notes that the 2026 campaign introduces the 20-valente pneumococcal vaccine (Pneumo 20) to the National Immunization Calendar. This formulation expands protection against pneumococcal diseases such as pneumonia and meningitis for children under five years old.

In addition to routine catch-up efforts, the Ministry of Health is intensifying measles vaccination in specific municipalities including São Paulo, Guarulhos, and São Bernardo do Campo. According to official disclosures, authorities are broadening the offer of the triple viral vaccine to everyone between six months and 59 years of age in those areas following imported virus detections. More than 7.2 million doses of the triple viral vaccine have been distributed to states and municipalities so far in 2026.

Local Mobilization Across Municipalities

Municipal health departments nationwide are preparing local infrastructures for the August 22 mobilization day. In Curitiba, the municipal administration announced that 20 health units will open to deliver doses. Similar regional rollouts are organized in São José dos Pinhais, Óbidos, and Cuiabá, where local health departments are integrating pediatric health evaluations—such as oral health checks for children—alongside routine immunization checks.

Federal health authorities encourage parents and guardians to utilize digital tools such as the Meu SUS Digital application to monitor individual vaccination histories, view pending doses, and receive real-time updates ahead of the national event.
