Brazilian Fugitive Arrested in Boston for Aggravated Robbery

Fugitive convicted of Aggravated Robbery Arrested in Boston

Boston,⁢ MA – A Brazilian national wanted for violating teh terms of his probation in a robbery case has been apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ⁢(ICE) in Boston. Fernando Rodrigues‍ De Lima, 33, ​was arrested by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston.

Rodrigues de Lima was originally convicted in brazil for ​aggravated robbery ⁢and other crimes. While Brazilian authorities released him from prison, he ⁢was expected to serve over a decade on probation. However,he fled the country,prompting an international manhunt.

“ERO Boston will​ not have our ⁤community be a safe ​haven for foreign fugitives and criminals convicted of vicious crimes against others,” said ERO ‍Boston Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde. “Mr. Rodrigues de Lima⁣ was convicted of‌ aggravated robbery⁣ with a‍ firearm⁤ in his home country⁤ and is wanted for having violated the conditions of ​the ⁤sentence imposed by a court in Brazil. Our officers‍ will not allow someone like this the opportunity to potentially commit similar crimes here in Massachusetts.”

Rodrigues De Lima is ‍currently in ICE custody and facing removal proceedings.

ERO is responsible ⁢for enforcing immigration laws within the United States. The agency focuses on removing ​noncitizens who‌ lack legal⁣ authorization⁣ to remain in the country, including those with final ⁢removal orders issued by Department of Justice immigration judges.

Fugitive Convicted of Aggravated Robbery ⁤Apprehended in Boston

Boston,‌ MA – After ​an international manhunt, Fernando Rodrigues De ‍Lima, a 33-year-old Brazilian national, has been arrested ‍in Boston⁤ by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ‌(ICE). De Lima was apprehended by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) boston field office.

Convicted⁤ in Brazil for aggravated⁣ robbery and other crimes, De lima had⁢ been sentenced to over a ⁢decade of probation following his release from ⁢prison. However, he fled the country, prompting Brazilian authorities to‌ issue a warrant for his arrest.
