Brazil’s First Lady, Rosangela “Janja” da Silva, insulted Elon Musk during a panel discussion before the G20 summit. The event took place in Rio de Janeiro, where she addressed the need for stricter social media regulations. While speaking, she reacted to a loud noise and said, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” then added, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you, Elon Musk.”
The incident was captured on video and circulated on X, eliciting a response from Musk. He commented, “They are going to lose the next election,” accompanied by laughing emojis.
Musk has a complicated relationship with Brazil. Earlier this year, the Brazilian Supreme Court suspended X for 40 days due to issues related to disinformation. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva supported this legal action.
Musk has been associated with Brazil’s former president, Jair Bolsonaro, a far-right figure planning a potential return to politics in 2026, despite previous disqualifications. Bolsonaro reacted to the First Lady’s comment by saying, “We now have another diplomatic problem.”
The G20 summit is scheduled for November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together leaders from major economies.
