Brazilian President Lula⁢ Undergoes emergency‍ Brain Surgery

São Paulo, ‌Brazil – Brazilian President‍ Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva underwent emergency surgery Tuesday too address a brain hemorrhage stemming from a fall he suffered‍ at his home in October.

the 79-year-old⁤ leader is⁢ currently ⁢in the‌ intensive care unit⁢ at the Sirio Libanés Hospital in São Paulo, where he was transferred from the capital, brasilia. Doctors performed a craniotomy to drain a subdural hematoma, a collection of blood between the brain and the skull.The hospital released a statement confirming the surgery ⁣was successful and that Lula is “being ⁢monitored in ​the ICU.” A press conference with the medical team is scheduled for later today to provide further updates on the president’s condition.

Lula initially sustained a ​head injury on⁣ October 19th after falling at his residence. the fall resulted ⁣in a cut requiring stitches, but initial assessments ⁣indicated no serious complications.However, recent headaches prompted further examination, revealing ​the hematoma.

The president was forced to cancel a trip to Russia for the BRICS summit in November due to medical advice against long‌ flights.
