How much does breakfast matter‍ in ​the ⁤fight against pounds? Very much so, according to new Spanish research that has come to a clear conclusion: it’s not⁣ just whether you eat in the morning‍ that matters, but how much adn ‍what.

A‌ balanced breakfast,consumed in the correct proportion⁤ of ⁣the daily caloric requirement,could be the key to a ⁤healthy weight,writes The ‌Sun.

The perfect balance: not too little, not too much

In a study⁢ published in The⁢ Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging, Spanish researchers analyzed the diets and health status of 383 adults aged 55 to 75 from a hospital in Barcelona. Their conclusions are simple but surprising: those who eat between 20 and 30% of their daily intake of calories at breakfast they have a ⁤lower body mass index (BMI) and a slimmer waist.

Simply put, the “sweet spot” is between 500 and 750 calories for men ⁤and 400-600‌ for women.Less ‌than that, researchers say, ‍doesn’t provide enough energy, and more can lead to fat storage.
