Breaking Barriers: How the Paralympic Festival is Revolutionizing Inclusivity and Captivating a New Generation of Fans
The Paralympic Festival is set to take place next Saturday (21) at the CPB Training Center, bringing together children with and without disabilities from all over Brazil for a fun-filled morning of parasports.

The festival will feature at least three sports, including athletics, badminton, and table tennis, with the specific sports varying by location to ensure a diverse offer throughout Brazil.
“This sport is very popular in our reference center. It’s great to have champions and coaches come to the festival together and lead some activities,” said Fabio Vasconcelos, coordinator of the João Pessoa Reference Center and coach of the Brazilian blind football team.
“It will be a great integration with the students, which can be very inspiring for many of them who are trying the modality for the first time. With a champion by their side, the participants will realize that they can become high-performance athletes,” he added.
Paralympic Festival Highlights
In João Pessoa (PB), children will have the opportunity to try out three sports: athletics, blind football, and taekwondo. Each sport will also feature at least one Paris 2024 Paralympic medalist, including sprinter Petrúcio Ferreira, thrower Cícero Nobre, taekwondo athlete Silvana Fernandes, blind footballers Jardiel Vieira and Maicon Junior.
Another center that will offer the chance to practice sports with Paris medalists is in Macapa (AP), featuring athletics, archery, and sitting volleyball. Thrower Wana Brito has already confirmed his participation and will showcase his skills to the children.
The Paralympic Festival promises to be an exciting and inspiring event, promoting inclusivity and diversity in sports.
