OgataMr. Aoki seems to have had a unique career as a lawyer. First of all, please tell us about your background.
AokiI have been interested in architecture and the work of a lawyer since I was in university. I got a job at a major construction company to gain practical experience, and after working in sales for about 6 years, I decided to become a lawyer specializing in the construction field. After completing my legal training, I worked for a major law firm, TMI, for about 8 years, focusing on litigation cases and negotiation cases. Then, I decided to start a firm specializing in the fields of architecture and real estate, and that’s when I opened the “Archi Law Office.”
OgataWhat kind of cases are you currently handling?
AokiWe receive requests from construction companies, developers, and real estate companies to handle a variety of cases, including troubles caused by defects in homes, condominiums, and buildings, recovery of contract fees, and complaints from neighbors. We often receive inquiries regarding real estate sales contracts and rental contracts.
OgataI see. Mr. Aoki has practical experience in the construction industry, so it will be easy for him to understand the situation, and the customers will feel at ease.
AokiI agree. What sets me apart from other lawyers is that I have a first-hand understanding of the speed and flow of work at construction companies, and I am proud of this as a major strength of mine. We also handle cases related to inheritance, which is inseparable from real estate.
OgataAs I listened to Mr. Aoki’s story, I could sense that he was active and fully demonstrated his high level of expertise.
Aokithank you. Each lawyer has their own area of expertise, but since I specialize in a narrower area, I find it rewarding, and I feel happy when I receive gratitude from a client for successfully resolving a dispute. Customers who appreciate my response have referred me to other companies, and in some cases, the company I was dealing with has asked me to take on another case.
OgataI was surprised that there were requests from other parties as well. I guess that’s proof that Aoki-san is taking this seriously. Lastly, could you also tell us about your vision for the future?
AokiIn the future, I would like to expand my range of clients while focusing on seminar activities. As I mentioned earlier, I have experience as an office worker and understand the feelings of people working in the field, so I can not only rely on them for legal matters, but also the sales staff, designers, and site supervisors in the field. I want to be someone that makes people feel like, “If there’s anything I need to do, I can just leave it to Aoki-san.” To that end, I will continue to create an environment and build relationships with them so that they can contact me immediately in the event of a problem.
