A temporary prefectural hospital center was received on September 24, 2024 by the community of Cinkassé. This infrastructure comes at the right time to improve access to healthcare for children in the region.
With a total cost of 148,305,683 CFA francs, the new pediatrics of the Prefectural Hospital Center (CHP) of Cinkassé is part of the Social Cohesion project for the northern regions of the Gulf of Guinea (COSO), implemented by the National Development Support Agency on the Ground (ANADEB ) with the financial support of the The World Bank. The reception ceremony was held with local authorities. This is Cinkanssé’s prejudice, Col. YANANI TIEKABE chaired the ceremony in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of the Cinkassé 1 commune, representatives of the Cinkanssé Canton and the regional directorate of public works, and workers of the sector.
This new health facility includes a wide range of essential services for caring for sick children. Indeed, this paediatrics has a department, two large hospital rooms, two small hospital rooms with three beds each with built-in toilets, a breastfeeding room, a consultation room, a waiting room, an emergency room, an infection room, and a nurse’s room on for observation posts, two two-bedroom hospital cabins with built-in toilets, a changing room, a duty room, offices for doctors and supervisory staff, a warehouse, two sanitary blocks with ten cabins, a veranda and a large longitudinal hall.
In addition to paediatrics, other basic structures were rehabilitated or built, such as a technical room, a housing fence, extensions, a lodge, an incinerator for degradable medical waste, a rectangular canteen and a straw hut for the Cinkassé CHP facilities.

The COSO project is implemented in 41 cantons, including 37 in the Savanes region, 2 in the Kara region and 2 in the Central region. It is implemented following the process of empowering beneficiary communities, as well as promoting transparency and accountability, all in a method known as Community Driven Development (CDD). It aims to improve regional cooperation and the socio-economic and climate resilience of border communities in targeted northern regions of the Gulf of Guinea countries exposed to conflict and climate risks through dialogue and regional investments in the border area.
