Rasambleman pou Lavansman Moris: A New Political Force Emerges in Mauritius

A new political configuration, Rasambleman pou Lavansman Moris, was unveiled to the Mauritian press and public on September 12, 2024, at the Hotel Le Saint-George in Port-Louis.

The Mauritian Socialist Union and Muvman Travayis Militan have joined forces to create this alliance, which will participate in the upcoming legislative elections.

Leaders Jack Bismohun from the USM and Dr Vasant Bunwaree from the MTM shared their vision for this new alliance, citing the need for a third force that Mauritian voters have been waiting for. This union aims to bring together skilled candidates from various fields.

The RPLM has already established 20 cells across the 20 constituencies in Mauritius. The remaining candidates will be announced in the coming weeks or months, following the Election Writ issued by the President of the Republic.

This new union will refine the parties’ programs and present them as part of the upcoming legislative campaign.
