DJ Burns Joins Pronouk Goyang Sono: A New Addition to the Team
Pronouk Goyang Sono has completed its foreign player lineup with the recruitment of DJ Burns, a 23-year-old talented player. The team has terminated its contract with Janelle Stokes, who had postponed her arrival in the country.
Sono announced the news on the 14th, stating that they had signed Burns, who had impressed in the NBA Summer League. This decision comes after Stokes, who was initially signed in July, postponed her arrival date multiple times and eventually did not board a flight to Korea.
Burns boasts an impressive physical condition, standing at 2m4cm and weighing 125kg. He played a crucial role in his team, NC State, winning the ACC Conference Tournament for the first time in 27 years. Burns was also selected as the MVP of the tournament and led his team to the NCAA Tournament as the 11th seed.
During the NCAA Tournament, Burns averaged 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 28.2 minutes, helping his team become only the sixth team to advance to the Final Four.
A Sono official praised Burns, saying, “He is a passionate rookie who has just graduated from college and is challenging himself in an overseas league. He has excellent sense and BQ, which will enable him to quickly adapt and excel in the KBL. We expect him to bring good results for the team as a second option and provide additional enjoyment to the fans.”
Burns will join the team in Taipei, Taiwan, where they are currently training, on the 15th to meet his teammates for the first time.
