Preventing Youth Delinquency: A Collective Responsibility
When asked about the greatest responsibility for preventing youth delinquency, Dženana Husremović, a professor of psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, emphasized that we are all responsible.
According to Professor Husremović, “There is no person in this society who is not responsible for prevention, and prevention is the best way to deal with these issues. Investing in preventive activities has shown results in any field. We are all responsible, from our role, and in that role, we have tasks and responsibilities, whether we are talking about the role of parents, schools, or elected officials.”
As a psychologist, Professor Husremović stressed that every role we live in life carries its own responsibility and tasks. “Whether it is the role of a parent, teacher, or any other role, we must take action within the framework of these tasks,” she added.
The Polis program discussed the alarming rise in youth delinquency, including murders, shootings, and hooliganism.
