Edmundo González Urrutia’s Lawyer Presents Letter to Prosecutor Explaining Non-Response to Summons

José Vicente Haro, the lawyer representing Edmundo González Urrutia, met with prosecutor Tarek William Saab to present a letter from the presidential candidate explaining why he did not respond to the summons issued by the Public Administration.

Haro described the meeting as organizational, stating that the defense team hopes the authorities will recognize that the events attributed to González Urrutia are not of a criminal nature.

The lawyer emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to present and discuss the details of why González Urrutia did not appear before the Public Ministry, citing the need to exercise his rights and preserve his integrity.

Haro noted that the defense team will evaluate future legal actions in favor of González Urrutia, ensuring that the authorities guarantee his constitutional rights to protection and due process.

The lawyer stressed that the defense team’s approach is based on legal considerations, without delving into political aspects, which will be addressed by the Unitary Platform or the Command Area with Venezuela.

Haro expressed satisfaction with the meeting, stating that he had fulfilled his mission of presenting the arguments.

The Public Ministry received a letter from González Urrutia, presented by Haro, explaining the reasons for not responding to the three summons issued by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The document was submitted to Saab, who will evaluate the arguments presented by the defense team.
