Breaking Away from Tradition: Barron Trump to Attend New York University
Barron Trump, the 18-year-old son of former US President Donald Trump and Republican presidential candidate, is set to break away from the family tradition of attending the Ivy League. According to the Wall Street Journal, former President Trump revealed in an interview with British media that his son had enrolled at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Barron, the only child of former President Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump, is diverging from the path taken by his older siblings. Former President Trump and his eldest son Donald Jr., eldest daughter Ivanka, and second daughter Tiffany all graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Eric, on the other hand, attended Georgetown University.
During a campaign rally in Florida last July, former President Trump claimed that his youngest son “got into every college he wanted.” New York University’s acceptance rate this semester was a competitive 8%, with tuition fees around $63,000.
Meanwhile, New York University has been the site of several pro-Palestinian demonstrations this year, with protesters taking a stand against Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip. The university has also been the focus of attention for former President Trump, who has criticized pro-Palestinian protests by college students. At a campaign rally last month, he vowed to “kick out pro-Hamas radicals and make college campuses safe and patriotic again.”
As Barron Trump prepares to start his academic journey at New York University, he will be part of a diverse and vibrant student community. With its strong reputation for academic excellence and research opportunities, the university is an ideal platform for students to explore their interests and pursue their passions.
