Alpibio’s allergy medication with minimal drowsiness side effect has surpassed 28 million units in cumulative production in just six months since its launch.

According to Alpibio on the 23rd, the general drug ‘Fexofenadine (60mg) soft capsule allergy medicine’ has exceeded 28 million units (in capsule units) in cumulative production in just 6 months since its domestic launch. This is the result of combining 13 million units of pre-orders before launch last year and 15 million units of production after launch from January to June this year. Alpibio was in charge of development and manufacturing this product, and 4 large pharmaceutical companies were in charge of sales. The official distributors are SK Chemicals’ Nose-AL soft capsule, GC녹십자’s Allerjet soft capsule, JW중외약’s Algiquik soft capsule, and Chong Kun Dang’s Cool Nose-F soft capsule.

Fexofenadine is the only second-generation antihistamine that has proven to be effective in relieving allergic symptoms caused by pollen and house dust (indoor dust). In particular, it is characterized by being the ingredient with the least drowsiness side effect among antihistamines, so it can be safely taken during the day. Alpibio changed the formulation of the ingredient from the existing tablet to a soft capsule to improve absorption rate and bioavailability.
