Breathe Easy: Gumi Health Center Launches ‘Atopy and Asthma Academy’ with Expert Insights from Local Professors
Gumi City Hosts Atopic Dermatitis and Asthma Citizen Academy
Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province, is set to host an atopic dermatitis and asthma citizen academy for approximately 100 citizens, including parents of children with allergic diseases, on the 5th and 26th at the Gumi Health Center Open Plaza.
The academy, held annually, brings together local professors and experts to provide up-to-date information and management methods on allergic diseases, offering a valuable resource for citizens seeking to better understand and manage these conditions.
This year’s academy features two lectures: ‘Treatment and Management of Atopic Dermatitis’ and ‘Understanding and Management of Allergic Rhinitis’. A Q&A session on atopic dermatitis and asthma will also be held, allowing attendees to address their questions and gain a deeper understanding of these conditions.
In addition to the academy, Gumi City is promoting various preventive management programs, including atopic dermatitis and asthma prevention puppet shows, an atopic dermatitis and asthma relief school, and provision of medical expenses and moisturizers.
Gumi Health Center Director Choi Hyun-joo emphasized the importance of proper management during childhood and adolescence, stating, “Allergies are a disease that can be greatly improved if properly managed during childhood and adolescence.” Director Choi added, “We will continue to prepare programs that emphasize the importance of proper preventive management and provide accurate information to citizens.”
