Milwaukee –​ Jacob Misiorowski’s​ highly anticipated major league debut for the Milwaukee Brewers ended prematurely Thursday ⁣night when he slipped on the mound. the incident occurred after ‌he’d held the st. Louis Cardinals hitless through five innings. The ⁤Brewers‍ went on to win 6-0.

Misiorowski, a top pitching prospect, was facing Victor Scott to begin the sixth inning when his foot slipped awkwardly after a pitch. ⁤Brewers medical‍ staff evaluated Misiorowski, who⁣ then left the ‍game. Nick Mears replaced him.

The Brewers ⁤later ​announced that Misiorowski exited due ‍to cramping in his right calf and⁢ quadriceps. ‍Despite the injury, Misiorowski earned the win, striking out five and walking ‍three.
