Beloved Sligo Father and Grandfather Brian Egan Passes Away Unexpectedly
Cloontia, Co. Sligo – The close-knit community of Cloontia is mourning the unexpected passing of Brian Egan, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Egan, a resident of Cloonmeen, passed away peacefully at his home on December 10th, 2024.Egan was recently predeceased by his wife,Marie,and his loss is deeply felt by his heartbroken family.He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
“He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family,” a statement from the family read.
Egan is survived by his children: Brendan, Bridie, Francis, Declan, and Evelyn. He was also a devoted grandfather to his 12 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to Finley. His sister Kathleen, brother-in-law Johnny, sisters-in-law Eileen and Kathleen, nephew, niece, relatives, and many friends also mourn his passing.
Funeral Arrangements
egan will lie in repose at The Kilgarriff Funeral Home in Ballaghaderreen on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM,concluding with evening prayer at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Ss. John the Baptist and Colman in Derrinacartha on Friday morning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Carracastle Cemetery.
The family has requested privacy at their home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayo/Roscommon Hospice through Kilgarriff Funeral Directors in Ballaghaderreen or online at http://www.hospice.ie/donate.
