Harris, a rising star in the 2026 class, chose Oklahoma over finalists Alabama, michigan, Penn State, and South Carolina, marking a significant recruiting win for Brent venables and his staff.
Harris cited the Sooners’ consistent communication and the family atmosphere fostered by Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates as major factors in his decision. He emphasized feeling a strong connection with the program from his initial visit.
“I’m going to Oklahoma, proud to be a Boomer Sooner,” Harris said. “The constant communication was big. Coach Venables has such an infectious personality… I feel like I’m so connected with that family.”
The Oklahoma Sooners envision Harris playing multiple roles along the defensive line, including 3-tech and 4-tech positions, with the potential to contribute as a pass rusher on third downs. Harris expressed his willingness to play wherever needed, even suggesting he could line up at linebacker.
