In 2010,Evanne was hesitant to go out after injuring her hip playing basketball.”It was the day before St. Patrick’s Day, I had just played a basketball game, messed up my hip and wasn’t planning to go out,” she recalled.
But fate, and a charming magician named Brian Fitzsimons, had other plans.
“So I didn’t put on any make-up and when I met Brian I thoght, ‘Oh no! I look crap and I’ve met someone I like!'” Evanne shared.
Luckily, brian was smitten, and his notable magic tricks sealed the deal. “Brian swept me off my feet doing magic tricks, making stuff disappear and pulling coins out of thin air. I was totally won over,” Evanne admitted.
Three years later, the couple exchanged vows in a gorgeous ceremony at Mount Druid in County Westmeath. Evanne looked radiant in an ivory lace gown, her blonde hair styled in an elegant updo. Their son,Séimí,who was one at the time,had the honor of being the ring bearer.
The wedding was a joyous party attended by many of Evanne’s RTÉ colleagues, including Marty Morrissey, Jacqui Hurley, and Hugh Cahill.
