Bricherasio Allocates €75,000 for Hydrogeological Improvements
BRICHERASIO, Italy (AP) — The municipality of Bricherasio has earmarked €75,000 to address hydrogeological issues at three key locations: Cesani Granero, Vecchia di San Giovanni, and Gioetta. The funding, approved during the city council meeting on March 27, is part of the 2025-2027 financial forecast budget.
Addressing recurring Problems
Mayor Simone Ballari stated the projects are financed through ordinary maintenance plans assigned by the Mountain Union of the Pinerolese. Ballari said the work aims to resolve “problems that frequently enough come back.”
Project Details
The planned improvements target specific vulnerabilities at each location:
- Cesani Granero: Following a landslide several years ago on the hilly road, a small retaining wall will be constructed to protect the roadway.
- Vecchia Strada di San Giovanni (Roncaglia): The rainwater drainage system will be enhanced with additional grids to improve water flow, which currently struggles to drain effectively.
- Gioietta (Rio Callogna): The riverbed of the Rio Callogna will be cleaned, and a small embankment will be built on the right bank to mitigate flooding risks.
Looking Ahead
the municipality anticipates completing these hydrogeological improvements by the end of the year, enhancing the safety and stability of these critical areas within Bricherasio.
